Thunder Trail Association
Annual Meeting
September 13, 2000 - Thunder Bay, ON
The
Thunder Trail Committee will be holding its annual meeting on
September 1th. The Committee is dedicated to the development and
maintenance of a shared-use recreation trail which will be Thunder
Bay's section of the Trans Canada Trail network. The Thunder Trail
will initially stretch from Old Fort William to the Terry Fox

Hike for Health...on
the Nipigon River Recreation Trail
September 20, 2 000
- Nipigon-Red Rock, ON
The
3rd Annual
Hike
for Health, sponsored by the Rotary Club of
Nipigon and the Land of the Nipigon Waterways
Development Association, will be
held on the Nipigon River Recreation Trail on Saturday, September
30th. This 8 km hike between
Red Rock and Nipigon takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete.
A registration
fee of $10 or $20 per family entitles participants to
bus transportation from the Nipigon Marina to the Red Rock Trailhead,
continental breakfast at the Red Rock Inn, bottled water, box-lunch,
post-hike entertainment and the chance to win one of many attendance
prizes. Participants who collect pledges of $100 or more will
recieve a Hike for Health sweatshirt. Registration forms are available

February 11-14, 2001 - Montreal, QB
Take
A Hike and hundreds of other outdoor retailers from across
Canada will be in Montreal February 11-14 to check out what new
for the fall-winter 2001 season.
Over 200 suppliers will be in attendance.
Most of Take
A Hike's buying for fall 2001 will be completed by mid-April.
Superior Hiking
Trail Association Annual Meeting - 2001
May 4-6, 2001 - Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning
Center, Minnesota
Just
south of Thunder Bay you'll discover one of North America's best
hiking trails... the 211-mile Superior Hiking Trail. This long-distance
footpath is modeled after the Appalachian Trail and travels along
the ridge line adjacent to Lake Superior's north
shore from Duluth, Minnesota to the Canadian border. For trail
